About Calico Systems
Calico Systems Inc. was founded in 1999 by Joanna Cali. Joanna was a founding partner of Metro-Cali Graphics, a print marketing firm in New York City with clients including PepsiCo, The New York Power Authority, AIG, and The New York Public Library. Metro-Cali provided PepsiCo’s international POP advertising for over 8 years. Joanna developed a love for the Internet during the mid 1990’s, and founded Calico Systems to focus on Internet marketing. She is a recognized expert in Internet marketing and Search Engine Optimization, and has appeared on radio, in print and given seminars, speaking and writing about Search Engine Marketing and web development.
In 2009, John Supino joined Calico as partner. John’s professional career has included consulting experience for prestigious corporations including United Nations, Nortel Networks, Bristol Meyers Squibb, and American Re-Insurance. A graduate of William Paterson University with a BS in Telecommunications, John has held senior management positions and managed the installation of massive international networks with have spanned continents. John’s extensive project management experience includes overseeing international development teams with expertise in technology based solutions. Throughout his career he managed technology based projects and participated in the development and implementation of new innovative networked based solutions.
Also in 2008, Calico developed a strategic alliance with The Allen Group, which since 1997 has been providing Web and Software Development, specializing in e-business, application development, and e-commerce solutions to clients ranging from small, fast-growing companies to Fortune 500 enterprises, representing a variety of industries and applications.
Allen Group project manager, James Marcus’ professional career has included consulting experience for prestigious corporations including Verizon Communications, Pitney Bowes, Lockheed Martin, and NYNEX. A graduate of Tufts University with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, James holds a Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification and he is a Member of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA). James also held teaching positions as Adjunct Associate Professor and Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the Univ. of Bridgeport and at the New York Institute of Technology. James has extensive project management experience. He manages both local and European development teams with expertise in web applications. Over the years he managed numerous Web related projects and participated in the development and implementation of innovative Internet solutions.
Steven Meek is a Senior Web and Software Developer specializing in systems analysis and web-based design patterns on both Windows and Linux platforms. For the past 6 years he has been working as a web developer and programmer/analyst. He develops websites’ back-end and writes customized database driven applications. Steven works directly with the client to understand business logic and build functional specifications. On the side he works on indie games and frequents programming contests such as Google Codejam and the Netflix Prize.
